Dear Friend: I am contacting you through one of our members, regarding the 5th Annual Armed Forces Freedom Ride to support our local troops and provide scholarships for children of military personnel and law enforcement officers killed in the line of duty. The Burlington County Military Affairs Committee (BCMAC) and the Marine Corps Law Enforcement Foundation (MCLEF) co-sponsored the 1st "Ride" in 2007. It was a great success, with over 500 motorcycles and 700 riders. Last year was our biggest year yet! We had over 1200 motorcycles & over 1500 riders. Total money raised so far in our 4 years is over $100,000. Escorted by law enforcement officers from the N.J. State Police and local Camden & Burlington County Police Departments, riders left from Barb’s Harley Davidson dealership in West Collingswood and preceded to Joint Base-McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst. All participants concluded the "Ride" enjoying a BBQ lunch, vendors, and live entertainment. In 2011, our Grand Marshalls will consist of at least one Medal of Honor Recipient. I am honored to be the Co-Grand Marshall sharing a vehicle with some of America’s Greatest Heroes. Also joining us for this great event will be Colonel Gina Grosso, Commander, Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst. We are expecting a large contingent of military personnel from the newly formed joint base. . The event is staffed 100% by volunteers with 0% overhead. Every penny goes to the troops and families. We have established six levels of corporate sponsorship and appropriate recognition will be presented during the event. Our goal is to raise more than $50,000 this year. Please join me (I am a 2-Star Sponsor) in supporting this worthwhile endeavor. Jim Saxton BCMAC Honorary Chairman
